Historical Photobomb

This was a fun project although harder than I anticipated it would be to get the correct lighting, clothing, perspective, etc. I travelled back in time to join the protest march for women’s rights of the late 1960’s. It was such a pivotal time in our history that would have benefitted with all of today’s women travelling back in time to march alongside those protesters. We women of the 21st century have not yet achieved total success with equality to and the respect of men in the workplace even to this day. I worked in the corporate world for many years and while I enjoyed most of my time and experience gained, I was relieved and happy to leave and start working on my own. Certainly not all companies are this way, and many more are gaining ground in civil and human rights. So with my alter ego travelling back in time with all of today’s women by my side, a time warp would be applied to civil rights, equality, and basic humanity for all women.
Did you know that while the 19th amendment was ratified into law by the majority of states in 1920, our own state of North Carolina did not ratify it until 1971 and Mississippi in 1984. I dream of the day when women will be respected in all aspects of life and given their deserved equality by all men – primarily white men. To be a total nerd, if we could all be accepting and equal like a Star Trek movie life would be grand!
